Hazardous Waste Disposal
Please read this update from the Hazardous Materials Unit:
Environmental Health and Safety wishes to thank everyone who responded to their plea for submittal of hazardous waste pick-up requests. Every request received by midnight on March 18th was fulfilled. Six manifested shipments comprised of 75 packages containing nearly 8,000 pounds of hazardous waste were shipped off campus prior to the Governor’s Stay-at-Home Order. The Hazardous Materials Unit went all in to ensure all hazardous waste in all central accumulation areas located in Eberly College including Chemical Research Building, Clark Hall, and Life Sciences; Statler College and NRCCE; Davis College of Agriculture & Forestry; and the Health Sciences Center were emptied. If you are conducting approved research and are in need of hazardous waste services please contact email@example.com or call 304-293-5810 for guidance.

Please read this important announcement regarding hazardous waste services:
Given the uncertainties with recent events, EHS has decided to prepare for the possibility of an interruption in hazardous waste services. Please submit a Hazardous Waste Disposal Request for all chemical waste containers, full or nearly full as soon as possible. EHS will be picking up waste campus-wide Tuesday (3/17/20) and Wednesday (3/18/20). Include a request for enough waste containers to collect all hazardous wastes you will generate through April.
Beginning Monday, March 23rd waste will only be picked up if satellite limits have been exceeded. We regret the inconvenience that these decisions may cause, but the health and safety of our team and you is our #1 priority.
Individuals responsible for Weekly Inspections of Central Accumulation Areas should notify firstname.lastname@example.org if compliance with this requirement cannot be met.
Any updates to future changes in hazardous waste services will be communicated via e-News and social media. If you have specific questions regarding hazardous waste management please e-mail email@example.com or call 304-293-5810. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this evolving situation.
