Hazard Communication, Hazardous Waste and Lab Safety Classroom Training Presentation 2018

Annual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) Training

Environmental Health and Safety offers a combined Laboratory Safety, Hazard Communication, and Hazardous Waste Training twice annually in the beginning of the spring and fall semesters.

Hazardous Waste, Laboratory Safety and Hazard Communication training will occur at the dates, times and locations listed below.  Hazardous Waste will occur for the first 1.5 hours and Laboratory Safety/Hazard Communication will occur for the remaining hour.

Who must take the training?  - This training is required annually by the WV Department of Environmental Protection for any person (paid employee or not) who handles chemicals and/or unwanted material in a laboratory and may include, but is not limited to faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows, interns, researchers, technicians, supervisors/managers, and principal investigators who work unsupervised.  Undergraduates and graduate students in a 100% supervised classroom setting are not required to complete this training.

Please know that Hazardous Waste labeling requirements have changed!

If your training has expired, then you must complete this training either online OR in one of the above in-person (classroom) sessions.  You do not need to take both.
