Aerial Lifts-Classroom
The course participants will understand the safe operating procedures needed for using various types of aerial Lifts. Students will also understand applicable OSHA regulations. They will know when to use personal protective equipment and fall protection.
Contents:
- The purpose, use, and locations of manuals
- A pre-start inspection
- Responsibilities associated with problems or malfunctions affecting the operation of the aerial device
- Prohibition of overriding safety devices except as approved by the manufacturer
- That secondary operating systems shall not be used for purposes other than test or recovering the work platform
- Factors affecting stability
- Purpose of placards and decals
- Workplace inspection
- Applicable safety rules and regulations
- Authorization to operate
- Securing the aerial device from unauthorized use
- Operator warning and instructions
- Application of fall arrest systems for aerial platform lifts
- Stowing the aerial device for transport and precautions related to moving the aerial platform lift.
